Hari Puttar vs Harry Potter

26 08 2008

Ok ok…I consciously know i’m making my blog looks like a news page rather than a blog page…but i cant help but to share all these interesting news with you…LOL…

Harry Potter maker Warner Brothers are now filing a suit against Hari Puttar maker – Mirchi Movies to protect its intellectual property rights because the latter sounds tooooo similar to Harry Potter. Harry Potter, as you know, is a story of a young wizard and his best friends. Hari Puttar, on the other hand, is a Mumbai-based movie with a story on a young boy (named Hari Puttar of course) who moved to England and somehow got himself involved in a battle of secret microchip.

Just how similiar do you think ‘Hari Puttar’ & ‘Harry Potter’ are? According to report, Hari is a popular Indian name while Puttar means son in Punjabi.

Hari Puttar is due to open in India in 12 September whereas Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince, will be released on July 2009, 8 months after the initial scheduled release date.
